Images, systems, memory and matter keep changing places. plonton is a field of experiments between the personal, the technical and the unresolved.

The image is not an answer.
It is a surviving thing.
plonton is not a single-medium practice. It is a personal laboratory built from imagination, images, systems, language, code, rural life and the search for forms that do not yet have a name.
Patience, selection and taste matter as much as generation. A work may begin in a photograph, a dream, a diagram, a technical problem, a place, an animal, a fragment of language or a visual accident. No single motif owns the archive.

An image is a chain
of decisions.
The work begins before the machine. A concept, a rough sketch, a photograph, a memory or a dream enters the system. What comes out is not the end. It is material to look at, reject, bend and carry into the physical world.

A visual observation, a remembered texture, a technical diagram, an old image or a thought that refuses to disappear.
describe / translate / name
Notes move between Polish and English. The image is described, misdescribed and described again until a direction appears.
parameterize / generate / vary
Composition, distance, colour, material, light and distortion become parameters. Some variations are made by hand, some by an automated chain.
search / compare / throw away
Many images are made to find one pressure point: the form that starts to feel alive, wrong or strangely familiar.
select / repair / disturb
The chosen image is rebuilt through cropping, detail, colour, structure and refusal. The machine's accidents are kept only when they become meaningful.
prepare / proof / release
Resolution, colour, scale and output are checked for the intended screen or physical form. The image leaves the system and becomes a thing.

plonton is the pseudonym and artistic identity of Marcin Prończuk, a software architect and visual artist based in Bukowica, in the Lubusz countryside.
Praktyka przechodzi przez wyobraźnię, obrazy generatywne, sieci neuronowe, programowanie, architekturę oprogramowania, design, DTP, typografię, branding i fotografię. Kształtują ją także wieś, winnice, serowarstwo, tłoczenie oleju, fermentacja, pogoda i kontakt ze zwierzętami.
These are not separate interests collected into a portfolio. They are one nervous system: image, language, code, material, place, patience and the stubborn intelligence of living things.
